Eva Longoria is Officially Single Again

After months of celebrity news and gossip concerning her marriage to NBA player Tony Parker, Eva Longoria’s divorce from the athlete is officially final. The news also comes just two weeks after the divorce of the “other couple” implicated in their split. When Longoria and Parker broke up last November, rumors circulated that Parker had cheated on Longoria with the wife of teammate Brent Barry.

Longoria has not been hiding out despite her hurt over the breakup of her marriage, but has made it a point to socialize. She has been seen out with 25-year-old Eduardo Cruz, who is the younger brother of actress Penelope Cruz, though the pair say they are just friends. Another rumor that recently sprang up was that Longoria had the tattoo of her wedding date (07/07/07) removed from her wrist, but Longoria took to Twitter to deny that rumor.

Kate Middleton New Favorite of Designers

The future wife of Prince William is rapidly becoming a favorite of fashion designers, including Giorgio Armani. Kate Middleton’s fashion style was described by Armani as “highly aware of fashion trends.” While Armani won’t be designing Kate’s wedding dress, he will be designing one for another future princess when Charlene Wittstock marries Monaco’s Prince Albert in July of this year.

Other admirers of Kate Middleton’s style include Karl Lagerfeld, who has described her as chic, beautiful, and elegant. He also lauded the trend toward royalty marrying partners who are not of royal blood, declaring it “better for the generation to come.” Lagerfeld described Middleton as “a very well-balanced and a happy person. She is chic in a way the position needs.”

Elizabeth Olsen’s New Films to Premiere at Sundance

The younger sister of famous twin fashion designers Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Elizabeth Olsen, is set to appear in two films that make their premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. And the movies are a far cry from the lighter fare that her sisters are famous for, tackling subjects like sexual abuse and religious cults.

The two movies, Silent House and Martha Marcy May Marlene, have resulted in positive reviews for the newcomer actress. Her next role is in a movie called Red Lights, a paranormal thriller with Robert De Niro. Between films, Elizabeth is a student at New York University, pursuing a degree in psychology.

Kate Middleton Keeping Designer Secret

One of the biggest mysteries in the fashion industry at the moment is who will make the dress that Kate Middleton will wear when she weds Prince William in April. And Kate’s not saying. She does not want to announce the designer until her wedding day, so that the dress is a surprise to her future husband as well.

Reports had surfaced that British fashion designer Bruce Oldfield had been picked to make the dress, but that is a matter of some debate. Designer Ben de Lisi says that it’s not him. Other than that, little is known other than the fact that earlier in January Kate’s sister and mother were seen meeting with Bruce Oldfield at his store in London.

Beyoncé Knowles in Remake of ‘A Star is Born’

Famous for both her musical and her fashion style, Beyoncé is headed for the big screen again, having been cast in a remake of the classic film A Star is Born, which will be directed by Academy Award winner Clint Eastwood. The movie has been remade several times, with the most famous (for most people) being the 1976 version that starred Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. The producers of the 1976 remake, Jon Peters and Billy Gerber, are also involved with the new version, which will be a full-scale musical. Production will begin in fall 2011.

The original movie is about an aspiring singer who falls in love with an older, “fading star” who helps her get her big break. The latest celebrity gossip about possible male leads has been about Robert Downey Jr., Jon Hamm, and Will Smith.

Christina Hendricks’ Moment of Panic at Golden Globes

Christina Hendricks, star of the hit television show “Mad Men,” had a bit of a scare at the Golden Globes Sunday night when she temporarily lost a diamond bracelet worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The latest celebrity news and gossip is that after walking the red carpet Hendricks, who plays Joan Holloway on the AMC drama, realized she was missing the bracelet, lent to her by the jeweler Chopard.

The blingy fashion accessory that fell off was a 124-carat pear cut diamond bracelet set in platinum, and is worth $850,000. Fortunately, someone found the bracelet and turned it in to security. Once she had it back in her possession, Hendricks realized she couldn’t fasten it properly, and arranged to have her publicist hold onto the bracelet until the evening was over.

Surprise Announcement from Nicole Kidman

Actress and fashion designers’ favorite Nicole Kidman and her husband Keith Urban have revealed that they are parents of an infant girl, born December 28. The baby, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban, was born December 28 of last year in Nashville to a gestational carrier. Genetically, she is Kidman and Urban’s daughter. The couple issued a statement saying, “Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret.”

The couple managed to keep the impending birth away from Hollywood’s celebrity news and gossip machine, surprising everyone with their announcement. They didn’t even reveal their new arrival at the Golden Globe Awards Sunday. Little Faith Margaret has an older sister, Sunday Rose, who was born in 2008, and an older sister Isabella and brother Connor, from Kidman’s previous marriage to actor Tom Cruise.

Diane Kruger Shows her Tough Side

Diane Kruger, 34-year-old star of movies like Troy and Inglourious Basterds, says she’s not afraid to look imperfect for her movie roles, such as her new role in the movie Unknown, which stars Liam Neeson. Kruger told Gotham magazine that the movie is “really action-packed, a lot of running through streets with Liam Neeson.” She says she is happy to be offered more gritty roles, and credits Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds with opening up new roles for her.

But despite relishing her new tough girl roles, Kruger loves the fashion industry and couture, particularly the work of Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, whom she considers a mentor. “I had modelled for Chanel quite a bit when I was younger, and I've known Karl since I was 16,” she said. When she went into acting, Chanel lent her clothes, and Lagerfeld designed a couture gown for Kruger when the movie Troy opened in Cannes.

Kourtney Kardashian: Mason Won’t be on Show

Even though he prompted lots of coos and “Awwww”s on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, little Mason Disick isn’t going to appear in the latest Kardashian reality show offering, at least for the time being. Mom Kourtney Kardashian told People magazine, “Scott and I decided not to have him on the show this season.”

Kardashian’s reasoning is that she is “weirded out to have [Mason] on camera,” and that he is too young to be able to decide if he actually wants to be involved in the show or not. So she’s playing it safe and keeping him off-camera. The show airs January 23, and Kourtney says she has not ruled out the possibility of Mason appearing on later seasons of the show.

Film Based on Rock Mafia Video in Works for Miley Cyrus

The Rock Mafia video for their song “The Big Bang” starred Miley Cyrus, and the latest celebrity news and gossip is that there are plans afoot to create a feature film based on the video. Miley’s mother, Tish Cyrus, is meeting with big shot producers like Suzanne Todd about the project. Miley would reprise her role from the video, in which she played a “ghostly” character.

Rock Mafia’s Antonina Armato told MTV News that the film would be “epic.” The actor who worked opposite Miley in the video, Kevin Zegers, has not said if he will be part of the planned movie. In the video, Miley and Zegers play star-crossed lovers. The video was a huge hit, and band member Tim James commented that both Miley and Zegers brought their “A” game to the shoot when it came to acting in the video.

Britney Spears’ New Single Goes Straight to #1

Britney Spears’ latest single “Hold it Against Me” dropped on Tuesday and by Wednesday had gone straight to the top of the iTunes charts. But don’t expect a live performance by Britney at the Grammy Awards in February. Even though her life has rebounded significantly since her disastrous live appearance on the 2007 MTV VMAs, it is unlikely that live TV performances are in her near future.

Spears has been dissected by the pop culture media for every thing from her celebrity fashion style to her money management problems, but the one thing nobody can deny is the major danceabilty of her new hit. Says Entertainment Weekly’s music critic Leah Greenblatt, the song is super catchy: “Two weeks later, you’re, like, dreaming that song and singing it in the shower,” she says.

Ginnifer Goodwin Defends Weight Watchers

Ginnifer Goodwin expressed surprise at the reaction to her recent revelation that she has been on Weight Watchers for much of her life. She maintains that because of the program, she has never been on an actual diet. She told People magazine, “I’ve never had an eating disorder. I’ve never had to go on a diet, and that’s because of Weight Watchers.”

Goodwin says she was taken aback by the celebrity news and gossip hinting that she had problems with her body image since childhood. She attributes her success at conquering her childhood weight problems to counseling, exercising with her peers, and understanding portion sizes. The actress and star of “Big Love” announced her engagement to actor Joey Kern last month.

Shakira and Boyfriend ‘On a Break’

The latest celebrity news about Colombian singer Shakira is that she and her boyfriend of 11 years have broken up, but some speculate that the split could be temporary. She told Us Magazine, “We made a mutual decision to take time apart from our romantic relationship.” She also referred to the years spent with investment banker Antonio de la Rue “the most wonderful years of our lives.”

The singer left open the possibility that the two could reconcile in the future, saying, “We view this period of separation as temporary and as a time of individual growth.” Sources close to Shakira say that there was no big drama or cataclysm, but that the two felt like they had become more friends and business partners than romantic partners.

Selena Gomez Threatened by Bieber Fans?

The latest celebrity news and gossip surrounding the 18-year-old Disney Channel star and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador is that some of the more ardent Justin Bieber fans have expressed their discontent after the latest round of photos showing the two getting cozy together. After a picture of the two kissing on a private yacht in St. Lucia appeared, plenty of young Bieber fans Tweeted, threatening to “kill” Gomez should she break Bieber’s heart.

Entertainment website E! Online went to a former prosecutor to ask whether Tweeted threats are considered serious enough for law enforcement action. Because the threats were given over the web, any crimes would be under federal jurisdiction, but it would have to continue, worsen, or be more specific for Gomez t file a police report and have the authorities (in this case the FBI) investigate, and that hasn’t happened yet.

Taylor Swift Surrounded by Exes at People’s Choice Awards

At Wednesday’s People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles, singer Taylor Swift, recently broken up with Jake Gyllenhaal, was in the presence of two other ex-boyfriends, Cory Monteith and Taylor Lautner. Backstage Swift hung out with Selena Gomez, Ellen DeGeneres, and Drew Barrymore, among others. For the event she was decked out in two different dresses, by fashion designers J. Mendel and Mark+James for Badgley Mischka.

Gwyneth Paltrow Discusses Postpartum Depression

Longtime star and fashion industry favorite on the red carpet Gwyneth Paltrow recently sat down with Good Housekeeping magazine to discuss her experiences with postpartum depression. Though she found the time after first child Apple’s birth to be blissful, things were different with her second child, Moses. “I just thought it meant I was a terrible mother and a terrible person,” she said.

It was her husband, musician Chris Martin, who first broached the subject of depression, and Gwyneth says that acknowledging the problem was the hardest part. Since recovering, she has restarted her film career with a recent musical performance in Country Strong, where she plays an alcoholic country singer.

Lindsay Lohan may have Violated Probation at Clinic

Even in rehab Lindsay Lohan couldn’t escape being the target of celebrity news and gossip, and now that she’s been released, reports are saying that her altercation with a staffer violated terms of her probation. A Riverside County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson was reported by CNN to have said that the in-rehab dust-up was a violation of probation. The staffer was fired after the incident for speaking to tabloids about it.

Lohan’s lawyer has only commented that it was she and not the staffer who called 911 for help after the incident. The staffer, Dawn Holland, has said she does not want to file charges, but the local DA’s office is determining whether Lohan should face battery charges, which now seems unlikely. Lohan is scheduled to appear in court February 1 for a review of her probation.
