The star is looking slimmer and happier
Britney Spears is hoping to show the world how well she's doing at this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
Her car-crash performance in 2007 was an embarrassment, but Britters feels back on form and has been nominated for her Piece Of Me video.
The 26-year-old is still under dad Jamie's control and his conservatorship will now run until the end of the year, with another interim hearing set for 28 October. It may not have been what Britney wanted, but her family’s breathing a sigh of relief that she’ll remain in their care.
‘It was her doctors who wanted this,’ a source close to Britney tells Now. ‘They wanted her to be looked after for the time being and Jamie will make sure she’s taking her medication and not going off the rails.
'If you look at how she’s changed since he’s been in charge, Britney’s transformation has been dramatic. After last year, when she turned up to the VMAs and put on an amateur show, we’ve got high hopes that she’ll really impress this year.’
Hosted by Russell Brand, MTV’s Video Music Awards will be held in LA on 7 September and the music industry has been awash with talk of Britney making a reappearance. Her people aren’t confirming it, but the star’s looking groomed and toned, a world away from the out-of-shape, incoherent Britney we saw at the award ceremony in Vegas last September.
The upcoming show isn’t the only reason Britney’s been working out almost daily. She’s reported to have become close to one of her bodyguards, a former Israeli soldier named Lee, with whom she’s enjoyed a short break in Mexico. Her potbelly seems to have shrunk, her hair is tidier and more groomed and even her spotty skin seems to have cleared up, thanks to her healthier lifestyle.
