Stars' Spring Getaways

CABO SAN LUCAS
Matthew McConaughey and Penelope Cruz enjoy love on the rocks at a seaside villa. McConaughey later said he was in Mexico "relaxing: Tranquilo. Por la vida, cada dia." ("Cool. For life each day.") And for him, it's all about the atmosphere: "I've learned that I'm much happier traveling to absorb," he's said.

MIAMI
No shoes required: Paris Hilton shows her sunny disposition on a Florida beach in February. Over her busy weekend (she hit hot spots Mansion, Snatch and Opium Garden), she and her family bunked at the Ritz South Beach. "It's like one big nightclub," her dad, Rick, told PEOPLE. "There's a lot of excitement there."

MAUI
Britney Spears, who's been in Hawaii with husband Kevin Federline, catches some rays with her own little sunbeam, 6-month-old Sean Preston, at the Four Seasons Resort on March 4. But even on vacation, she's a star: That day the singer good-naturedly posed for photos with a wedding party at the hotel.

THE PYRENEES
Victoria Beckham warms up to stylish skier Romeo, 3 (note the Dolce & Gabbana boots!) at the Baqueira-Beret resort in Spain last month. The next day, they took a dogsled ride with brother Brooklyn, 7, while baby Cruz, 1, stayed behind (dad David Beckham was busy training with his soccer team, Real Madrid).

BAHAMAS
Keira Knightley and beau Rupert Friend take a seaside stroll on Grand Bahama Island, where she filmed a Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. The couple checked out the local Lucaya marketplace, dined at the Ferry House seafood restaurant and shared tropical drinks while lounging by a hotel pool.

FRENCH POLYNESIA
Mom-to-be Katie Holmes and fiancé Tom Cruise stay close at hand while walking on a bridge over the lagoon at the Le Taha'a Private Island & Spa resort in February (left). The same day, Holmes feels no pier pressure from Cruise's kids Connor, 11, and Isabella, 13, outside their bungalow.

PARIS
Lost in translation? Pink and husband Carey Hart consult a guidebook – then steal a moment of l'amour – after shopping at a Cartier boutique in the City of Light on March 4. "I can usually have only one vacation all year," the singer has said. "When I'm there I simply concentrate on relaxing and avoid facing up to anything else."

CABO SAN LUCAS
Gwyneth Paltrow, who's expecting her second child with husband Chris Martin, bares her belly while on vacation last month in Mexico with their 22-month-old daughter, Apple. They stayed at the Esperanza resort, where Paltrow honeymooned with Martin in 2003 and now owns a condo.

ST. BART'S
Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones steal some couple time on a family holiday last month (left). Later, Mom makes a splash with daughter Carys, 2, while Dad helps son Dylan, 5, catch a wave. The family spend much of their time at their home in another tropical paradise: Bermuda. "I love ... being an island girl," Zeta-Jones has said.

SYDNEY
U2 frontman Bono takes wife Ali and sons Eli, 6, and John, 4, for a spin around Sydney Harbour on March 7. The family (including daughters Jordan, 16, and Eve, 14) reportedly rented a $40,000-a-week waterfront house and spent their trip visiting the Taronga Zoo, chilling by the pool and, for Dad, checking out properties for sale.

ANGUILLA
Celine Dion horses around on the beach last month, and later plays the wading game with son Rene-Charles, 5 (whose dad, Rene Angelil, was nearby). But the scenic setting may not have been the best part of the trip for Dion: "If I am with Rene and my son, I am fine," she's said. "When I am with my family, I adapt, everywhere!"

VAL D'ISERE
It's all downhill for Hugh Grant, with girlfriend Jemima Khan at the posh French ski resort last month. Grant said he's loved France since visiting as an exchange student at 13. "When I returned to England just a few weeks later, I was smoking 20 Gitane cigarettes a day, I was a Communist, and my English parents were petite bourgeoisies."

THE BIG ISLAND
He plays a tough guy in movies, but Harrison Ford shows his softer side in Hawaii with longtime love Calista Flockhart (left) and her 5-year-old son, Liam. Though Ford has filmed all around the globe, he's still got wanderlust: "I'm very anxious to see more of the world, huge parts of the world I've never experienced," he said recently.

ST. BART'S
Carey Lowell plants a wet kiss on husband Richard Gere while vacationing on the posh French West Indies island last month. Perhaps Gere (who later sat cross-legged on the sand and meditated) is taking his own romance advice: "Relationships are like sharks," he's said. "You have to keep them in motion or they don't survive."
