Brad Pitt's Edge-y Role

U2 want Brad Pitt to star in a movie about their lives.
The band's guitarist The Edge thinks the Hollywood hunk would be the perfect person to portray him if a film about the Irish group was ever made.
Edge, 47, said: "We'd want it to be realistic, we don't want the usual things, so Brad Pitt would play me. We want to be realistic, you know, you don't want to do the Hollywood thing."
We'd want it to be realistic, we don't want the usual things, so Brad Pitt would play me. We want to be realistic, you know, you don't want to do the Hollywood thing.
Bono thinks only an Oscar winner could do him justice on the big screen.
He joked to British radio presenter Christian O'Connell: "Yes, I would say... who's another tall, skinny Irishman? Daniel Day Lewis would play me."
The band - who released their twelfth album 'No Line on the Horizon' last week - also admitted they have come close to splitting on several occasions since they formed in the 70s.
Bono, 48, believes the band - which also includes drummer Larry Mullen Jr. and Adam Clayton - hit a bad patch "every few years".
Edge confessed: "I do this thing probably about once every 10 years where I go OK, that's it, I've had enough."

Brad Pitt's security is so good he can't get in his own house

BRAD PITT’s security is so good he can’t even get into his own house.
The Oscar-nominated actor was left red-faced when he returned to his home on his customised Chopper motorbike – only to discover he couldn’t get through the security gates of his private estate.
Brad, currently at cinemas in The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, had been at a business meeting at swanky Chateau Marmont hotel in Hollywood.
He made several frantic phone calls and eventually a neighbor turned up to let him in.
Maybe security didn’t recognize him under that helmet...

Jennifer Aniston saved Brad Pitts voicemail messeges on her phone

JOHN MAYER had better be aware when leaving a message on JENNIFER ANISTON'S phone - it may come back to haunt him.
Friends star Jen has revealed she keeps voicemails from former partners, including ex-husband BRAD PITT.
Jennifer told Marie Claire: “I still have the cassette tapes of messages from my first boyfriend, my second boyfriend, my husband.
"It's like saving love letters.”
We're not sure if Brad's new missus ANGELINA JOLIE will be too pleased about Jennifer's revelations.
Her response should be rather interesting...

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
(12A) 165mins
CARING for six kids and Angelina Jolie is bound to put a few grey hairs on a man’s head – but this is ridiculous. Poor Brad Pitt looks about 80.
Don’t worry, the world’s most desirable man hasn’t really lost his golden locks. It’s just computer wizardry.
Pitt plays Benjamin Button, a man who is born looking like an 80-year-old and then ages backwards.
With saggier jowels than Mick Jagger, he is such an ugly critter his father abandons him newborn on a doorstep. It happens to be an old people’s home, so Benjamin blends in.
Here Pitt does his best acting yet. He is a totally believable old man and the humour is well mined, with Benjamin saying things like “I’m seven but I look a lot older.”
Brad also narrates and his voice is even more handsome than his face, although the New Orleans southern twang is a bit over-cooked at times.
Benjamin falls for Daisy (Cate Blanchett) and for a few sweet years when they are similar ages the couple are deliriously happy.
But a relationship where one person is heading towards adolescence and the other towards infirmity is set for emotional turmoil and your critic has to confess to using a hanky to dab away the tears.
Director David Fincher, who worked with Brad on Se7en and Fight Club, perhaps overdoes the meditations on time and death.
But he puts his £75million budget to good use, throwing in a thrilling piece of Second World War action and sumptuous New Orleans settings.
So whether you are young, old or somewhere in the middle, make sure you find time for this Saga saga.
BEST LINE: Benjamin asks Daisy: “Will you still love me when I have acne?”
BEST CHARACTER: Benjamin doesn’t act his age.
FAMILY RATING: Some adult themes.
BUM NUMBNESS: It won’t age you.
RATING OUT OF FIVE: Five
UK RELEASE DATE: February 6

'I don't think anyone should feel under pressure to not age gracefully.’

Angelina Jolie doesn't like movies

Angelina Jolie hates watching herself on screen.
The Oscar-winning actress feels so uncomfortable watching her movies she hasn't seen many of her box office hits.
She said: "There's a film or two I haven't seen."
The 33-year-old actress - who raises six children with her partner Brad Pitt - explained: "I don't really like to watch movies. I love to watch Brad's movies though."
Despite her recent award nominations for her 'Changeling' role, Angelina ranked her acting career as fourth in her list of priorities. Being a mother to her children came first, being "a woman to Brad" was second and her charity work was third.
Angelina also revealed she plans to act "less and less in the future".
Last November, Angelina - who has three adopted children, Maddox, seven, four-year-old Pax and Zahara, three, along with two-year-old biological daughter Shiloh and baby twins Knox and Vivienne - revealed she plans to "fade away" from Hollywood to spend more time raising her family.
She said: "I don't plan to keep acting for very long. I will take a break for a year. And then one film a year, one film every three years, one film every six years. I'll just fade away and wait to be a grandma one day. I have it all planned."

Brad Pitt forgets to zip up his pants for his new movie 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button'

IT seems even A-lister BRAD PITT isn’t immune to a good old-fashioned bit of comedy humiliation.
The globally-desired actor evidently forgot to zip up after taking a piddle at a Paris photo call for his new movie The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
ANGELINA JOLIE will be thanking her lucky stars she wasn’t around to be snapped with her indecently dressed partner, who was blissfully unaware of his eye-catching error.
Clad in a cap, jeans and scarf, Brad decided to go casual for the occasion.
A little too casual in our opinion...

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie promotes 'The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button'

IN fairness to ANGELINA JOLIE, it must be pretty tiring having to pick out a new outfit for every glam movie premiere.
And while she’s usually bang on the money with her elegant fashion choices, we’re not so sure about this white trouser suit.
The actress has been trailing hubby BRAD PITT across the world as he promotes The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button and opted for this JOHN TRAVOLTA-inspired get-up at the film’s European launch in Berlin last night.
Organizers must have felt tempted to belt out the BEE GEES’ Staying Alive over the PA.
Though Angie would have struggled to dance along in such long, shoe-concealing trousers.
Still, her beautifully-crafted hairdo gets a big thumbs up from us.

STARS BRAD PITT and ANGELINA JOLIE arrive for a film premiere, both suitably dressed for the miserable weather — in grey.
The couple cocooned themselves in charcoal layers at the showing of Brad’s multi-Oscar nominated movie, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.
Angelina, 33, wore wide-legged trousers and a belted coat, while Pitt, 45, scrubbed up nicely in a three-piece suit and moustache.
An onlooker at the film screening in Paris said: “They dressed for the weather — not the occasion.

Curious Oscars

'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' has been nominated for 13 Oscars.
The movie is up for an incredible haul of accolades at the 81st Academy Awards, including Best Director for David Fincher, Best Actor for lead star Brad Pitt and the coveted Best Picture prize.
The movie will go up against 'Frost/Nixon', 'Milk', 'The Reader' and 'Slumdog Millionaire' for Best Picture.
Rags-to-riches tale 'Slumdog Millionaire' received the second most nominations - which were announced at a ceremony in Beverly Hills today (22.01.09) - receiving nods in 10 different categories, including Best Director for British filmmaker Danny Boyle.
Heath Ledger - who died of an accidental prescription overdose last January - is posthumously up for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as The Joker in 'The Dark Knight'. Surprisingly, the critically-acclaimed Batman movie is not up for any of the other main accolades.
Double Golden Globe winner Kate Winslet will be hoping to take home her first Academy Award after being nominated for Best Actress for her performance in 'The Reader'.
She will go up against 'Rachel Getting Married' star Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep - who has been recognised for 'Doubt' - Melissa Leo in 'Frozen River', and Angelina Jolie, who received a nod for her performance in 'Changeling'.

Brad Pitt: I didn’t cheat on Jennifer Aniston with Angelina Jolie

Actor says he wasn't unfaithful to his ex
Brad Pitt insists he did not have an affair with Angelina Jolie while married to Jennifer Aniston.
He says their romance blossomed on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith in 2004, after his relationship with Jen, 39, was over.
‘What people don't understand is that we filmed for a year,’ he says. ‘We were still filming after Jen and I split up.
'Even then it doesn't mean that there was some kind of dastardly affair. There wasn't.
'I'm very proud of the way that it was handled. It was respectful.’
In November, Jen branded Angelina, 33, ‘uncool’ for discussing the moment she fell for Brad.
But Brad, 45, reckons her remarks were taken out of context.
‘Listen, man, Jen is a sweetheart. I think she got dragged into that one,’ he tells W magazine.
‘We still check in with each other. She was a big part of my life, and me hers.'

The actress, 33, was recently accused of being a master at controlling the press.
But Brad, 44, says the article made his partner sound 'manipulative'.

'I think she's as honourable as anyone I've ever met.’
The couple are parents to baby twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, daughter Shiloh, 2, and adopted kids Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.

Brad Pitt was quoted saying 'Angie and I do not fight anymore'

Brad Pitt has vowed never to argue with Angelina Jolie again.
The actor, 44, revaluated his life while shooting The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
‘Angie and I do not fight anymore,’ he tells Rolling Stone.
‘What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother [Marcheline Bertrand in 2007], is that there's going to come a time when I'm not going to get to be with this person anymore.
'And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now. I don't want to waste time being angry at someone I love.’
In the movie, Brad plays a man who was born an octogenarian and looks younger as he gets older.
Brad and Angelina, 33, are parents to three-month-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, daughter Shiloh, 2, and adopted kids Maddox, 7, Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.

Brad Pitt: Some of my brain cells have shut down

Actor is struggling to learn French
Brad Pitt admits his mind isn't as agile as it once was. The actor, who is currently based in Berlin, is planning to move to France with partner Angelina Jolie and their six kids next year.
But he can't get to grips with the language. ‘Ange and I are trying to learn French,’ he says. ‘But she’s better at it than I am. Some of my brain cells seem to have shut down, so I’m struggling.
I can say “merci beaucoup” and that’s about it.’ Adopted son Maddox puts his dad to shame. ‘
Our seven-year-old rips it, man,’ Brad, 45, tells Hello!
‘He’s fantastic, so good. It’s really humiliating – but we’re really proud of him.’ Brad and Ange, 33, are also parents to five-month-old twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon, daughter Shiloh, 2, and adopted kids Pax, 4, and Zahara, 3.

‘The rule is everyone has to make something for someone else,’ he says.
‘You got to put time into it. The gift-giving is a very nice time for us.’
