Grey's Anatomy was just what the doctor ordered, while Lost was lost in the shuffle when nominations for the 58th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were announced Thursday.

The TNT mini-series Into the West led with 16 nominations, followed by 13 for the HBO movie Elizabeth I, 12 each for 24 and the HBO movie Mrs. Harris and 11 for Grey's Anatomy.

Will & Grace received 10, although it was not nominated for best comedy series and Eric McCormack didn't get a best actor nod. The show, which ended its eighth and final season in May, garnered nominations for lead actress Debra Messing, supporting players Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes and guest stars Alec Baldwin, Blythe Danner and Leslie Jordan.

PBS's Masterpiece Theatre adaptation of Charles Dickens's Bleak House also scored 10 nods. Lost – last year's winner for best drama – didn't score a nomination in that category, and its only acting nod went to guest star Henry Ian Cusick (who played Desmond).

Still, it racked up nine nominations. Though it finished its run, HBO's Six Feet Under is also up for nine Emmys. American Idol scored eight. Desperate Housewives, last year's top comedy series winner, was shut out of that category this year, and its regular cast members failed to receive any nominations.
