For Sale: Ashlee Simpson's House

LePaparazzi Celebrity News Updates

Ashlee Simpson's home in Encino, Calif.

Ashlee Simpson is moving on out – of her house, PEOPLE reports.

Less than a year after settling into her sprawling $6 million Encino, Calif., estate, Simpson, 21, is putting it up for sale. So what are the home's strong points? Ample wardrobe accommodation, for one. "The selling point for me was the closet," Simpson tells PEOPLE.

"It's 1,300 square feet!" The home also has a pool with a view: “Mountains on one side, the city on the other." And some high-profile neighbors: "You can see my parents' house," says Simpson. So where is the pop star headed? Fittingly, Simpson, who dates guitarist and surfer Braxton Olita, is moving to a beach house.

LONDON (Reuters) - Actress Kate Hudson accepted libel damages on Thursday from a magazine that printed a photo making her look too skinny, alongside an article that said her movie star mother Goldie Hawn wanted her to eat more.

Hudson had sued the UK Enquirer magazine over the article which appeared last October under the headline "Goldie Tells Kate: Eat Something!"

Her lawyer, Simon Smith, told Britain's High Court the story and pictures implied Hudson had "recklessly and foolishly endangered her health by deliberately starving herself."

One photograph "purported to show Ms Hudson as very frail and gaunt in appearance," he said, although the magazine had on other occasions printed photos taken weeks before and after, describing her as looking "stunning" and "great."

"The allegations are entirely false and were deeply offensive and embarrassing to Ms Hudson," he added.

"Ms Hawn has explained to me that she has never had any concerns about her daughter's appearance whatsoever and that she has always appeared to be very healthy and happy."
The magazine agreed to pay an undisclosed sum and print a public apology.

Actor Daniel Baldwin in hospital after crash

Daniel Baldwin

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Daniel Baldwin was hospitalized with back and neck injuries and faced charges including reckless driving on Wednesday after crashing his car on a busy Los Angeles street, police said.

Baldwin, 45, smashed his silver Ford Thunderbird into two parked cars after an officer saw him driving at more than 80 mph (128 kph) and weaving through traffic on bustling Bundy Drive on the city's west side, Los Angeles police spokesman Jason Lee said.

"The officer tried to catch up to the Thunderbird, lost sight of it momentarily and came up to a traffic collision where the T-bird had crashed into two parked vehicles," Lee said. "The Thunderbird pushed one of the vehicles about 20 feet , and that was a Hummer," Lee said.
Baldwin was taken to UCLA Medical Center after complaining of back and neck injuries, Lee said, and would be detained on suspicion of reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

Lee said Baldwin could also face charges of driving under the influence if he were found to be intoxicated. There were no other injuries reported and Baldwin's female passenger, who was not identified by police, was not charged.

Baldwin, who has appeared in a number of television series including "Homicide: Life on the Street," is a member of an acting clan that also includes brothers Alec, Stephen and William Baldwin.

Actor Haley Joel Osment was hospitalized early Thursday after he apparently lost control of his car while heading to his Los Angeles area home, authorities said.

Osment, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a boy who could see dead people in "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when the car collided with a brick pillar and flipped, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.

The 18-year-old actor was awake and talking following the crash, Sisneros said. He had been alone in the car and was taken to Huntington Hospital in nearby Pasadena.

Sisneros had no information on his condition, and an emergency-room receptionist said no one under that name was at the hospital.

Osment is set to appear in the upcoming "Home of the Giants." In the film, he plays a high school journalist covering a basketball team as it heads toward the state championship.

La Canada Flintridge, a suburb of Los Angeles, is about 14 miles northeast of downtown.
