Kanye West Finds Fashion Design Rewarding, Heartbreaking

He’s far more known for his outspokenness when it comes to celebrity news and gossip, but Kanye West has a soft spot in his heart for the world of fashion. In New York recently, he was given the Stylemaker Award at the 14th annual ACE Awards, and his acceptance speech for once didn’t anger anyone. He thanked Marc Jacobs for giving him the job of designing a line of sneakers for Louis Vuitton and said he was heartbroken once the job was finished.

The shoes came in three styles and ranged in price from $840 to $1150. He did, however, say that he loved the design process and seeing the finished product was a high, saying, “When it was ready it was like the dream of putting together the fabric and having the energy that I knew of being a street kid.”

Kanye West mom's surgeon sent to prison for driving drunk

The surgeon who operated on Kanye West’s mom before she died has been sent to prison.

Dr Jan Adams was seen driving in the wrong direction on a motorway and pulled over by police in June 2008.

A breath test revealed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his blood.

Donda died in November 2007 at the age of 58 from heart disease and complications from a breast reduction, tummy tuck and liposuction procedure.
Jan, 54, was given a year-long sentence on Monday.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Kanye West: 'People Think I'm Gay'

Rapper Kanye West has no regrets about speaking out against homophobia in hip-hop music, even though some people now assume he's gay. But West, who in 2005 called for an end to homophobia in the rap community, admits he still wouldn't feel comfortable socializing in a gay club, an attitude he attributes to his upbringing in Chicago, Illinois.

The 30-year-old says, "Speaking out against hip-hop homophobia, some people were like 'Oh, Kanye must be gay! Look at the way he's dressing! And why would he speak about it? He's a gay rapper.' And my whole point is, I wouldn't have spoke on that if I was gay or if I was in the closet. I would have stayed so far away from it. And I'm still homophobic myself to a certain extent. You know, I wouldn't go to a gay parade and feel comfortable. I wouldn't ever go to a gay club or something and just be chillin' and grab a drink. It's being in the entertainment world, I meet so many different gay people who are actually nice people. Where I came from, Chicago, being black and being a hip-hop artist, we used to really disrespect gay people. And the thing is, we can't get close to them with a 10-foot pole. And I realized, 'Wow, how ignorant has this been?'"
