Lepaparazzi News Update: Eminem and Kim Now Engaged?

First we reported that Eminem’s ex-wife Kim revealed infidelity was the reason they divorced for the second time. Now we hear that they may be engaged again – what is going on?!

Yes, less than a year after their second divorce, Eminem’s mate Akon is reported as telling The Mirror: "Eminem still loves Kim. They have one of those relationships where they are off one minute and back together the next.

"He can't live with her and he can't live without her. But they are meant for each other. They are engaged again."

Kim recently discussed the demise of their second marriage and as well as blaming the split on Eminem cheating on her when on tour, she also tellingly discussed the on/off nature of their almost 20 year relationship: "In our relationship there's a pattern. We'll have two good years and then it will go bad for some reason. It's like a two year max with us.

Hmmm it looks like we may just be looking at an ‘on’ phase again…

Lepaparazzi News Update: Scorsese wins Directors Guild award

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Martin Scorsese won the top honor Saturday from the Directors Guild of America for his mob saga "The Departed," moving him a step closer to finally receiving Hollywood's biggest filmmaking prize at the Academy Awards.

Scorsese was chosen as filmmaker of the year by his peers, his first win at the guild awards after six previous nominations. The guild winner usually goes on to win the best-director Oscar.

The self-deprecating Scorsese said he was pleased at the apparent success of the film but that he only became convinced it was doing well when the studio called with box-office revenues from the first couple of weekends.

"If you look at the graph at the spikes at where the picture is doing really great figures, it's like looking at a veritable map of the American underworld," such as Boca Raton, Fla., Scorsese said. "Vegas, forget about it, it was amazing."

Adapted from the Hong Kong crime thriller "Infernal Affairs," "The Departed" stars Leonardo DiCaprio as a cop who's undercover in a Boston crime outfit, Matt Damon as a mob mole who has infiltrated the police, and Jack Nicholson as the merciless gang leader pulling everyone's strings.

It has become Scorsese's biggest commercial hit, and critics praised it as a welcome return to the vivid, bloody crime genre whose modern conventions the director helped pioneer in such films as "Taxi Driver" and "Goodfellas."

"I started watching his work when I was 15 years old, said DiCaprio, who has starred in Scorsese's last three films and introduced the director to the guild audience earlier in the evening. "It was like entering a seamless cinematic reality."

Walter Hill won the guild's directing honor for TV movies for the Western "Broken Trail."

Other TV winners included Richard Shepard for comedy directing on the pilot episode of "Ugly Betty," Jon Cassar for drama directing for an episode of "24," and "Chicago" filmmaker Rob Marshall for musical variety directing for "Tony Bennett: An American Classic."

Arunas Matelis won for feature-film documentary for "Before Flying Back to the Earth," a portrait of children hospitalized with leukemia. The film won over two Oscar nominees, "Deliver Us From Evil" and "Iraq in Fragments."

"The Departed" marked Scorsese's sixth nomination for best director at the Academy Awards, an honor that also has eluded him. A sixth loss at the Oscars would put Scorsese in the record books as the filmmaker with the most nominations without winning.

But many awards watchers feel this is Scorsese's year, labeling him the front-runner for the Feb. 25 Oscars. A Directors Guild win helps give him the inside track.

The guild prize is a solid forecast for who might win the directing honor at the Academy Awards. Only six times in the 58-year history of the guild awards has the winner failed to go on to receive the directing Oscar.

The other guild nominees were Bill Condon for the musical "Dreamgirls," Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris for the road-trip tale "Little Miss Sunshine," Stephen Frears for the palace saga "The Queen" and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu for the ensemble drama "Babel."

Scorsese, Inarritu and Frears were the only three of the five guild nominees who also earned best-director slots for the Oscars. The other Oscar nominations went to Clint Eastwood for the World War II epic "Letters From Iwo Jima" and Paul Greengrass for the Sept. 11 docudrama "United 93."

"Dreamgirls" had been viewed as a potential best-picture favorite at the Oscars, but it missed out on a nomination, as did director Condon. With Condon out of the race, Scorsese's path to Oscar victory could prove a bit easier.

Scorsese was coy backstage when asked if it was his year to win at the Oscars.

"I don't know," Scorsese said. "It's good to have a nomination, especially for this picture."

Lepaparazzi News Update: Sienna Miller Wants To Be A Mother

NEW YORK, February 1, 2007 - Sienna Miller is both an actress and fashion icon. Still, there's one more title she'd like to have: mother.

"I can't wait," she says in Life magazine's upcoming issue. "In a world where you're encouraged to have your universe revolve around yourself, suddenly it doesn't. I know I want that because I have way too much love to give. If I have a child, it can all go there. Life, I think, will suddenly make sense."

In the new film "Factory Girl," the 25-year-old Miller stars as rich party girl and Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick. She's also acted in the films "Casanova," "Layer Cake" and "Alfie."

Her on-and-off relationship with dashing ex-fiance Jude Law, 34, made her an overnight celebrity. She reportedly broke off their engagement in 2005 after he publicly apologized for cheating on her following reports that he had a fling with the nanny of his three children.

"What makes me sad (is) that there was a loss of innocence on my part," she says. "I was blinded by being a romantic person. I sort of feel like, `What if I never love that vulnerably and that openly again?' But I feel like I'm really strong. I feel like I grew up. People have made a huge deal of it."

The tabloid fixture has some hidden quirks. "I have to sleep on the right side of the bed. I don't know why. ... I dip my French fries into chocolate milk shakes. I've never had a sex dream."

Lepaparazzi News Update: Olivier Martinez Three-Times Kylie

Love rat cheats on Minogue TWICE..!

According to UK newspaperThe Daily Mail, Kylie Minogue’s and Olivier Martinez’s three-year relationship is on the rocks.

It is rumoured that the French heart- throb has been caught 'entertaining' two other women in Los Angeles whilst his singer girlfriend was in Britain.

Friends of Ms. Minogue have told the Mail that Martinez has increasingly tried to alienate himself from his girlfriend in a desperate bid for her to finish with him.

Another source said,"Olivier finds Kylie too controlling and neurotic". "But he feels he cannot dump her so soon after her recovery from breast cancer.

Martinez was seen dining with two women on two separate occasions at LA’s famous celeb restaurant, Chateau Marmont. Both women spent time in his room after the meal.

Whilst her boyfriend was wining and dining his new conquests, Minogue, 38, was finishing the last dregs of her Homecoming Tour which she struggled to complete after suffering from exhaustion.

It seems the pint-sized starlet is somewhat unlucky in love. She went through a similar rough patch with Martinez two years ago after he was spotted kissing a woman, who incidentally turned out to be one of the women he was snapped in LA with, on a Paris street.

Minogue, who is recuperating after a breast cancer scare, has made no secret of wanting to start a family….looks like Martinez’s lothario ways have come as a blessing in disguise.

No Dating For Clooney And Anderson

It would have been a match made in tabloid heaven, but according to the man himself, George Clooney and Pamela Anderson are not dating.

Reports had paired PEOPLE magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" and the "Baywatch" babe together after an apparent sighting at Sherman Oaks restaurant.

However, bachelor Clooney says that not only are the pair not dating, but he has never eaten at the famed restaurant.

He said in a statement, "I worked with Pam seven years ago and haven't seen her since. And I've never been to that restaurant."

The reports had stated that Anderson was sitting on Clooney's lap during the dinner, whispering into his ear, and have since been "inseparable."

Anderson, who was once married to bad boy rocker Tommy Lee, has recently filed for divorce from Kid Rock.

Clooney has been linked to Renee Zellweger and Teri Hatcher in the past year.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Kidman in crash during LA movie shoot

LOS ANGELES - Nicole Kidman was taken to a hospital after the Jaguar she was in crashed early Thursday during downtown shooting of the science fiction thriller "The Invasion," police said.

Kidman, 39, was examined at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and then released a short time later. Paramedics were called to examine Kidman for injuries before she was taken to the hospital, police said.

"Nicole Kidman was in the vehicle at the time of the accident and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. She was released shortly thereafter," Warner Bros. said in a statement.

No other actors were involved in the scene at the time of the accident, the studio said.

The Jaguar was being towed by a camera rig that skidded while taking a corner and caused Kidman's car to hit a pole on West Sixth Street, police said. The actress was wearing a seat belt.

"The stunt driver apparently went off course and hit a light post at about 1 a.m.," police Officer Karen Smith said.

Eight people, including Kidman, stuntmen and cameramen, were taken to hospitals for examination and were released, Smith said. Warner Bros. said two crew members had minor injuries.

Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc., also said production continued after the crash and Kidman was expected back on the set Thursday.

The Oscar-winning actress, who stars as a Washington psychiatrist who unearths the origin of an alien epidemic, was involved in a scene involving an escape from zombielike characters who are on the hood of the car.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Jennifer Garner tells TV show how diamond ring fell into the Drain

NEW YORK (AP) — Jennifer Garner revealed a secret Wednesday that she'd been keeping from Ben Affleck: She nearly lost a ring he had given her after the birth of their 1-year-old daughter, Violet.

Garner, who stars in Columbia Pictures' "Catch and Release," said the mishap occurred while she was primping for the movie's premiere.

"He gave me this beautiful diamond ring and I was playing with it and ... it fell off. And it fell under this ice maker in the house — he (Affleck) hasn't even heard of this yet — and ... it fell into the drain under this ice maker," the 34-year-old actress said on "Live With Regis and Kelly."

"And the plumber had to come and dismantle the thing from under the house. And he found it," she said, holding up her hand to flash the sparkler.

"And Ben hasn't even heard that," said co-host Regis Philbin.

"I should have warned him," Garner replied.

Garner and Affleck, 34, were married in June 2005. Violet was born later that year.

"Catch and Release" opens Friday.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Paris Hilton's private items on Internet

LOS ANGELES - For those who haven't yet, somehow, had their fill of
Paris Hilton, there's a new Web site that has posted a seemingly endless offering of the celebutante's belongings.

The Web site, ParisExposed.com, launched Tuesday. It boasts that it has an array of Hilton photographs, home videos, diaries, love letters, recorded phone conversations and phone numbers of friends and celebrities, all left behind at a Los-Angeles based storage facility.

The items were sold to an unidentified buyer after a third party failed to make payments to the facility, and eventually wound up in the hands of a broker aiming to sell them, Hilton's spokesman, Elliot Mintz, told The Associated Press Tuesday.

Hilton's first big-time exposure came through a sex tape that also took a circuitous route to the public, first appearing in bootleg form in 2003 and then put up for sale in 2004.

All the new goods "were acquired by me through a broker," said Bardia Persa, who created ParisExposed.com. He noted that he obtained the Paris possessions in September.

Users must pay a monthly fee of $39.97 to gain access to the site, which promises footage of the 25-year-old heiress in a "sexy bubble bath" video. It also says it has various shots of Hilton in "racy situations," and footage of her drinking with friends and using illegal substances.

"We certainly are going to explore all of our legal options about this matter," Mintz told the AP.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Jessica in CD war with ex

AS far as publicity stunts go, using your divorce to promote a new single is up there with the worst of them.

That’s what JESSICA SIMPSON and ex-hubby NICK LACHEY are doing after “accidentally” scheduling UK releases for the same day.

Both have songs put out by the same record company, RCA, next Monday — Jessica’s as a download for a week before it hits the shops.

Both titles refer to the split. Nick’s is What’s Left Of Me and Jessica’s is A Public Affair.

Her official press release even starts: “The fabulous Jessica Simpson NICKs the spotlight on 29th January . . . ”

It’s hardly BLUR v OASIS but fans of each party are already doing battle on internet blog and MySpace sites.

One fan posted this on her website devoted to all things Simpson: “I have a plan to make Jessica beat Nick.

“I'm basically calling on all Jessica Simpson fans to get behind Jessica and support her in every way we can. It really is Team Jessica!

“Between us, we can support Jessica on all the message boards, MySpace, Bebo and Google to make sure we beat Nick Lachey in the charts.

“I might even get some T-shirts made up (I work in retail so it shouldn't be a problem).

“Let's beat Nick!”

Lepaparazzi News Update: Lindsay Lohan's Broken Heart

(CBS) Did a broken heart lead Lindsay Lohan to check herself into rehab?

Sources tell the New York Daily News that the starlet's unreciprocated love for actor James Franco is what sent her over the edge and into the Wonderland Center in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Franco, most recognizable for playing Harry Osborn in the "Spider-Man" movies, brought the actress to tears when he ignored her at Prince's Golden Globes party at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Monday night, a guest tells the newspaper.

The "Bobby" star first met the California-bred actor at the premiere party for "A Prairie Home Companion" at the New York's Hudson Hotel, the newspaper says.

"She was really taken with him," says another source. "She and her friends were going on to Bungalow 8, and he went along."

She arrived at Prince's party with her manager and another friend.

"But she was mostly solo for the whole night," the source says. "Most people were in a good mood — except for her. She seemed lost. She was trying to get James' attention, and he wouldn't give her anything. She was smoking a lot, not drinking in front of him, and then she went into a bedroom. From there, she went back to trying to get James' attention again, and he was ignoring her. She ran out crying, with the girlfriend following her."

Lohan was reportedly found passed out in a hotel hallway about 6 a.m.

The pair got chummy when they filmed a trailer for the film "Holiday." People magazine also reported that back in October they did a little clubbing. The newspaper reports that Franco even refused a pricey watch Lohan tried to give him as gift, and now she wears it and allegedly it serves as a painful reminder.

The 28-year-old actor previously dated rocker and actress Marla Sokoloff and "is very happy in his relationship with his girlfriend," a source tells the Daily News.

While Lohan's mother, Dina, won't say why her daughter is in rehab, the Wonderland Center where Lohan is staying specializes in treating addictive disorders such as love addiction.

In an interview airing on "Entertainment Tonight" on Friday evening Dina says, "the positive thing is that somebody's trying to help themselves."

Lepaparazzi News Update: Britney Spears Gets Back to Work

Britney Spears may have spent one wild weekend in Las Vegas with new beau Isaac Cohen, but come Wednesday night, she was back to work.

After a half-hour break to fuel up with pals at the Hollywood eatery Hamburger Mary's, the singer, 25, was spotted at 10:30 p.m. at the nearby Record Plant recording studio.

"She was rehearsing material, working hard and having fun all at the same time," a witness tells PEOPLE.

As for the project at hand, Spears herself told fans earlier this month in a message on her Web site, "I've been working so hard on this new album and I can't wait for you all to hear it and to go on tour again! I would like to exclusively tell you that I am working hard to release the new album sometime later this year, but the date is of course not certain yet."

She added, "I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever, and to also reaching out to my fans on a more personal level."

Her manager, Larry Rudolph, told USA Today that Spears was about half-finished with the new disc. "She's real excited," he said, estimating that the single would be out by late summer with the album to follow in late fall.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Pitt, Jolie move into French Quarter home

NEW ORLEANS - Neighbors have seen them come and go and can't be more tickled that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have moved into the French Quarter.

"It's great if they're here to stay and to be a part of the community," said Rayna Nielsen, who lives across the street from the early-1830s masonry mansion where the celebrity couple has been spotted in recent weeks.

Nielsen said the street was closed off while the couple moved in earlier this month.
advertisement

Pitt's latest film, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," has been filming in New Orleans since November.

Real estate records for the house, which is near the French Market, show it was purchased for $3.5 million in cash on Jan. 2. Neither Pitt nor Jolie are named in the transaction. Mondo Bongo Trust is listed as the buyer.

A real estate listing for the property shows the house has a grand spiral staircase, elevator, gourmet kitchen, a large private courtyard and a separate two-story guest house. It also has private parking for two cars - a luxury in the French Quarter.

As for whether the house will be their home, just how much time Pitt and Jolie and their three children will be spending in it remains unknown.

Their five-year-old son, Maddox, is old enough to be enrolled in school, though it is unclear whether the couple has selected a school for him in New Orleans. The other two children are daughters Zahara, 2, and 7-month-old Shiloh.

Calls to Pitt's publicist were not immediately returned Wednesday.

Regardless of how much time they spend in New Orleans, residents here say they are a welcome addition to the city.

"They're always trying to make a difference. They're always trying to help out," said Christina Cody, a waitress at a nearby restaurant whose co-workers have seen Pitt, though Cody has not.

"I want them to come in and eat," she said.

The celebrity couple has helped raise awareness of the city's devastation following Hurricane Katrina. Pitt, an architecture enthusiast, teamed up last year with Global Green USA to sponsor an eco-friendly design competition to rebuild parts of the city that were the hardest hit by the August 2005 storm.

Construction on the project will begin in the Holy Cross neighborhood in the city's devastated Lower Ninth Ward in February or March, said Trevor Neilson, philanthropic and political adviser for the couple.

The project will include 12 apartment units, six single-family houses, a community center and day-care facility to be built on 1.5 acres along the Mississippi River, Neilson said.

Pitt's film has a budget of $150 million, making it one of the most expensive productions in the state since Louisiana began offering tax incentives for the film industry in 2002.

The film also stars Cate Blanchett.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Heigl Upset With Co-Star's Comments

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl was not pleased with fellow castmate Isaiah Washington's comments following Monday's Golden Globe Awards.

During an interview in the press room after the show's best-drama win, Washington denied his involvement in a heated on-set incident in October during which he allegedly used a homophobic slur.

"No, I did not call (co-star) T.R. (Knight) a faggot," Washington said. "Never happened, never happened."

Rather than soothing the situation, his comments left Heigl seething.

"I'm going to be really honest right now, he needs to just not speak in public. Period," Heigl told "Access Hollywood" at a Golden Globe after-party. "I'm sorry, that did not need to be said. I'm not OK with it."

She called the comments "hurtful," characterizing the incident as one that should be handled privately among the show's cast and crew.

"I don't think (Washington) means it the way he comes off," Heigl said. "But T.R. is my best friend. ... I will use every ounce of energy I have to take you down if you hurt his feelings."

Knight, who said soon after the October fracas that he is gay, appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Tuesday to discuss the original incident and Washington's recent comments.

"He referred to me as a faggot. Everyone heard it," Knight said of the October squabble.

Comments from Heigl and Washington were set to air Tuesday on "Access Hollywood." A call placed after hours Tuesday to Washington's representative was not returned.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Justin and Cameron Break Up

After almost four years together, Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake have called it quits, the couple said in a statement Thursday.

"It has always been our preference not to comment on the status of our relationship, but, out of respect for the time we've spent together, we feel compelled to do so now, in light of recent speculation and the number of inaccurate stories that are being reported by the media," the pair said. "We have, in fact, ended our romantic relationship, and have done so mutually and as friends, with continued love and respect for one another."

Diaz, 34, and Timberlake, 25, met in April 2003 at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards, and by July, Diaz had joined her new beau on the road as he toured with Christina Aguilera.

They seemed at first like an unlikely pair: A former 'N Sync-er, Timberlake previously dated Britney Spears; Diaz had been in relationships with fellow movie stars Matt Dillon and Jared Leto.

And then there was their nine-year age difference. "It's not like this is the first time in the history of human relationships that people were drawn to one another because of who they are, not what age they are," Diaz told W in 2004.

But they surprised skeptics, staying together despite relentless rumors of strife. In July 2004, Timberlake filed a libel suit against the British tabloid News of the World after it claimed he'd cheated with model Lucy Clarkson, and in May 2005, Diaz sued U.K. tab The Sun for suggesting she'd had an affair with Shane Nickerson, the producer of her MTV adventure show Trippin'.

Along with breakup rumors, they faced near constant speculation that they were engaged. In August 2004, Diaz was spotted wearing a gold band on her left ring finger, but her rep denied the couple were altar-bound. Another source told PEOPLE at the time: "Cameron has always said she has no interest in getting married."

That was their story, and they stuck to it. In September 2006, Timberlake told Ellen DeGeneres she could buy a dress for their wedding – then quipped, "The only thing is, you'll have to stay the same size for the next 15 years."

Two months later, Diaz made her own appearance on DeGeneres's show, and told the host of getting married: "I'm a commitment-phobe. Don't want to do it."

Earlier this week, Timberlake kicked off his FutureSex/LoveShow tour. Meanwhile Diaz collected a trophy for favorite leading lady at the People's Choice Awards on Tuesday.

Lepaparazzi News Update: Dita Von Teese & Marilyn Manson Fight Over Custody Of Cats

Dita Von Teese and estranged husband Marilyn Manson are reportedly fighting over custody of their cats.

The burlesque dancer and the shock rocker - who are getting divorced after just one year of marriage - are both keen to keep their feline pets, Lily and Aleister.

The couple also have two dachshund dogs, Greta and Eva.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "They are fighting over custody of the cats - not so much the dogs."

Dita - who filed for divorce from Manson, real name Brian Warner, last Friday (05.01.07) citing "irreconcilable differences" - took all the animals with her when she moved out of their marital home before Christmas.

Earlier this week, it was alleged that Dita decided to leave Manson after growing tired of his constant partying and friendship with actress Lindsay Lohan.

A source said: "She just had enough of his wild partying. Lindsay Lohan was ringing up the house wanting to come round and party with him. The phone would go all through the night, with people constantly turning up to hang out."

Dita and Manson dated for seven years before tying the knot on December 3 2005 in a gothic-style ceremony in Ireland.
