A tip from the Emmy Awards, brought to us courtesy of Kirstie Alley's (left) and Barbra Streisand's velvet overloads. . . For those of us not wanting to direct all the attention on our untoned bits or for the more petite crowd, avoid masses of formal fabrics with a lot of lustre.
Treat velvet--and velveteen--like desserts: only enjoy in moderation! It's the over-the-top designs that really clinch the deal for Kirstie and Barbra. With the voluminous amounts of fabrics and whimsical colors, both gowns are reminiscent of a fairytale come true. Plus, Kirstie's little Emmy purse misses the mark with its off color and style, making the dress even more awkward. Don't forget that with any gown, you need to accessorize and accessorize well.
