Clay Aiken Blogs About His “Happy, Healthy” Baby Boy
Clay Aiken can add “dad” to his resume.
The American Idol alum’s baby was born Friday morning to 50-year-old music producer Jaymes Foster, Clay’s close friend.
Aiken’s mother, Faye, told a Raleigh, N.C., radio station that Parker Foster Aiken weighed in at 6 lb., 2 oz. baby was 19” long and has “dark hair.” Clay, she added, is “smiling from ear-to-ear.”
For his part, Clay blogged about his good news later on Friday on his website:
“HE’S HERE!” the singer wrote.
“My dear friend, Jaymes, and I are so excited to announce the birth of Parker Foster Aiken (No hyphens. One first name. One middle name. One last name.)
Parker was born at a hospital in North Carolina just this morning at 8:08 AM. Wow… 8:08 ..08/08/08
Weighed in at 6 lbs 2 oz and measured 19 inches
The little man is healthy, happy, and as loud as his daddy. Mama Jaymes is doing quite well also.
The Aiken family, the Foster family, and the Parker family are all thrilled.
We’ll share more at some point in the future. Love to you all!”
Foster produced several of Aiken’s CDs after meeting the singer on the American Idol set. She’s the sister of record producer David Foster, who has worked with such artists as Mariah Carey, Madonna and Whitney Houston.
In May, a rep for David Foster confirmed his sister was artificially inseminated by Clay.
Although they’re not a couple, Aiken and Foster plan to raise baby Parker together.
