Madonna’s Trainer Says She’s “Not Gaunt,” Just Muscular



Madonna has recently come under fire for photos that show the pop star looking a bit emaciated.

But Madonna’s trainer, Joel Harper, says the singer—who turns 50 next week—is perfectly healthy.

Harper tells CelebTV.com exclusively, “If she appears to be gaunt, it’s really just that she’s muscular and ripped—she’s a powerhouse.”

Adds Harper: “She has to keep up her rigorous touring schedule.”

The New York-based celebrity trainer suggests high repetitions are the way to go with weight training, which is why Madonna’s exercise program is “spot on.”

The celebrity trainer says the proof is in the pudding: “Just take a look at her, she’s doing it right.”

It’s no wonder celebrities appreciate Harper’s work—he advocates short workouts.

“I’m big into working multiple body parts simultaneously. That’s why I designed the Fit Pack workouts. They’re all under 25 minutes,” he says.

But, Harper divulges, Madonna’s got a secret weapon to make it through her 30-minute workout: 30 minutes of amazing music.
