Cate Blanchett's Upton certainty

Cate Blanchett "couldn't not" say yes when her husband Andrew Upton proposed to her.

The 39-year-old actress - who has three sons, seven-year-old Dashiell, four-year-old Roman and eight-month-old Ignatius with Andrew - knew she would end up marrying the playwright as soon as they met.

Speaking about Andrew's proposal, Cate said: "I couldn't not accept. We were in exactly the same place at exactly the same time. He turned to me after a few days and said, 'Cate รข€¦ ,' and I thought, 'Oh, god, he's going to ask me to marry him - and I'm going to have to say yes!' He didn't, in fact - he asked me what I wanted for dinner or something like that. But I'd never had that thought before. I thought, 'This is extraordinary! I've never felt this before. What an adventure!' "

Cate - who can next be seen starring alongside Brad Pitt in reverse ageing movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button' - also revealed while she and Andrew are happy in their relationship, there is one thing that would spark problems between them.

She added to Vanity Fair magazine: "Andrew said he'd divorce me if I had any plastic surgeries.

"When you've had children, your body changes, there's history to it. I like the evolution of that history. I'm fortunate to be with somebody who likes the evolution of that history."

Cate Blanchett's wedding regrets

Cate Blanchett regrets her wedding day.

The 39-year-old actress - who married playwright Andrew Upton 11 years ago - would love to relive the special day because she has no photographs to remember it by.

She said: "The only moment of my life I would possibly recapture is getting remarried again because we didn't take any photographs. We didn't have any money at the time and we couldn't afford a photographer."

Cate - who has three sons with Andrew - also revealed starring in new movie 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button', about a man born elderly who ages backwards, helped her remember the most important things in her life.

She added: "In rehearsal we were talking about our relationship with our parents, about the first time you kissed somebody, it makes you remember the turning points in your life.

"The thing I physically learned for the film was a lot of dance moves. I thought a lot about my grandmother because a large portion of the film I am playing an 86-year-old who is dying in bed."

ANDERSON URGES BLANCHETT TO SNUB ARMANI

Pamela Anderson has written a stern letter to Australian actress Cate Blanchett, urging the Oscar-winner to stop wearing Armani clothes.

The model/actress has teamed up with animal rights activists at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals to encourage A-list stars to shun fashion designer Giorgio Armani over his refusal to cut fur from his lines, and now she's taking aim at one of the fashion guru's closest friends.

She wants Blanchett to wear other designers' creations to red carpet events until Armani agrees to stop using fur.

In her letter to Blanchett, Anderson writes, "Cate, as you are such a huge part of Armani's publicity machine, would you please urge him to keep his promise and leave fur out of his future collections?"

Actress Cate Blanchett poses for photographers prior to the Giorgio Armani Spring/Summer 2009 women's collection show during Milan Fashion Week September 22, 2008.

A spokesman for the designer has confirmed Armani plans to cease using all but rabbit fur in future creations, adding, "As a luxury fashion house, which has always been attentive to this issue, we feel we are being unfairly targeted in comparison to our competitors."
