Leonardo DiCaprio Donates $1M to Tiger Conservation

It’s usually not so difficult for a movie star to give away $1 million, but today’s latest celebrity news is that after a journey fraught with problems, Leonardo DiCaprio did just that at a summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. The odyssey started out when Delta Flight 30 had to make an emergency landing in New York after engine problems. However, in true celebrity style, DiCaprio signed autographs for the flight crew and passengers after the ordeal was over.

After arriving in Russia, DiCaprio joined heads of government for the first ever summit for saving tigers. There, he donated $1 million to the World Wildlife Fund’s urgent tiger conservation efforts. Once he’s back stateside, DiCaprio plans to produce and star in a new movie on the John F. Kennedy assassination. He will play FBI informant Jack Van Laningham, who said he witnessed a confession to the assassination by a Mafioso.

Leonardo Dicaprio expressed his joy over Obama's Victory at London premiere

LEONARDO DICAPRIO used the London premiere of his latest movie to express his joy at BARACK OBAMA’S victory.

“I feel like a great weight has been lifted off of our country's shoulders,” he said, at the Body of Lies red carpet run.

“He promised change and all we can do as a country right now is support him.”

Leo was greeted by 200 screaming fans as he arrived in Leicester Square for the premiere of the CIA thriller, which centres on a US agent’s hunt for a terrorist
mastermind.

He was joined on the red carpet by director, SIR RIDLEY SCOTT and co-star MARK STRONG.

RUSSELL CROWE, who plays a CIA handler, was not in London for the bash.

Leonardo DiCaprio's marriage U-turn

Leonardo DiCaprio wants to get married.

The 'Titanic' actor - who has dated supermodels Gisele Budchen and Bar Raefaeli - previously claimed he would never tie the knot, saying he "did not believe" in the institution.

However, the 33-year-old star - who also claimed he didn't feel emotions and had never been in love - now admits his comments might have been a little hasty.

Leonardo told Parade magazine: "No, I don't agree with any of that, it sounds like the ignorance of youth to me. When did I say that? Three or four years ago? Hey, we grow up real fast.

"What I definitely feel a need for is to make my life about more than just my career. Just last night I was thinking to myself how little of my life has been lived normally and not spent on some far-off movie location.

"I want to get married and have children. In saying that, I realise I am contradicting everything I've said before. I absolutely believe in marriage."

Leonardo always revealed his biggest worry is becoming cynical, as he believes it would hamper his lust for life.

He said: "I hope I never get cynical, I think you need youthful energy, excitement, and optimism in life. There is a lot I want to do, and the more cynical you become, the more you sit on your butt and do nothing."

Leonardo DiCaprio is said to be devastated by the death of his grandmother.

Helene Indenbirken passed away at the age of 93 at a hospital in her native North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Leonardo, 33, and his mother visited her in hospital just last week.

‘She is literally gangsta, and I mean that with an “a”,’ he said recently.

‘She will tell people exactly what she thinks to their face and look them in the eye.’

Leonardo is expected to return to Germany this week to attend a memorial service.

Friends of the couple - who have been dating for 15-months - claim the pair are absolutely "delighted" with the news.

Leo reportedly felt the fatherhood urge after his friend, 'Spider-Man' star Tobey Maguire celebrated the birth of his first child last November.

A source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "He dotes on Tobey's little girl Ruby and has been asking him all about what it's like to being a dad."

The couple's happy news comes shortly after reports Leo proposed to Bar, followed by a secret engagement party in Tel Aviv.

It is believed Leo and Bar will marry in a private ceremony in Israel followed by a larger celebration in the US later in the year.
