Sex and the City sequel movie will address the credit crunch

EVEN Carrie Bradshaw has to tighten her designer belt in a recession.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER’S character may have to tone down her lust for labels in the Sex and the City sequel after the actress revealed the movie will address the credit crunch.

She said: “How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?”

“How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way?

“There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges.”

But lack of luxury won’t mean a shortage of fun, promised the star.

“I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp.”

OMG! 'The Sex And The City' sequel is expected to be released in 2010

A follow-up to the hugely successful Sex And The City movie has finally been given the green light.

Director Michael Patrick King has confirmed that shooting will start this summer.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, 43, Cynthia Nixon, 42, and Kim Cattrall, 52, will all reprise their roles.

‘I'm very excited to work with these amazing actresses again,’ Michael tells People.

‘I would love to give everyone more information about the sequel… but I'm busy with my Sex life.’

In November, Sarah, 43, played down speculation of a sequel, despite the enthusiasm of her fellow cast members.

‘I'm thrilled to know Kim is excited but all the deals are not yet done,’ she said in a statement to Access Hollywood.

‘With the wind on our heels, we hope to make it a reality.’

The Sex And The City sequel is expected to be released in summer 2010.

More pictures from the New York set of the Sex and the City movie have emerged, and this time they delve into the refined world of Charlotte played by actress Kristin Davis.

The spoilers show the dainty princess and her on-screen husband Harry enjoying a merry-go-round with their adopted daughter.

The last set of photos that emerged of Charlotte show her sporting an obvious baby bump, yet insider’s on set of the film – which show Charlotte confronting Carrie’s notorious bad boy, Mr. Big - claim it was part of a dream sequence.
